I've heard mixed things on Reddit and SDN. Some people say they had terrible interviewers if you look at Name/Shame threads or even separate threads about JHU interviewers grilling people about minor items (grades, for example, which if you got an interview, should be practically a non-factor)....
have my interview on friday as well. Anyone know what the student panel is? Is it an info session or a real interview?

You shouldn't be. It was really chill and they made every effort to encourage that. Other than it being a top school, you shouldn't be scared since everyone generally was rooting for you during the process.

i heard mixed sources say that it's closer to 30% since the bloomberg funding but not sure if anyone knows?

closer to ~35% is what i heard from the committee. 50% is pre-bloomberg.

if you look at admit.org the percent is near 50% for last year

idk if the sample size of ~70 is an accurate representation. I was told roughly 1/3 A 1/3 W 1/3 R.

You mean during your interview day?

sample size of 70 is honestly pretty good, considering 500 interviews go out. i agree that it may be closer to 1/3 but being part of the population that uses admit.org means you are going to be in the group that has a 50:50 shot

The acceptance rates on this website don't come form user data. It is data reported directly from the schools to US News, so they are accurate. Unfortunately, the data is always 2 cycles behind, so for Hopkins it's inaccurate since the data is from before it went tuition-free

no im talking 50% from the cycle results data. its more like 47% got admitted based on self reported data but its close to 50%. im not using the data reported on the statistics tab im using the cycle results

My bad! Yeah then I think Admit users probably have a higher acceptance rate vs the general applicant pool

interviews cant see mcat/gpa at the time of the interview. But they will have it after the interview, during the discussion

How much more II movement do we expect for Hopkins?
I'm kind of freaking out, does anyone know why Johns Hopkins CSS institutional aid is so early? Like in mid november and mid december 2025. Anyone who has submitted materials after this point been able to get enough aid?
Do you think post-II letters of intent would make a difference at Hopkins? Or only if waitlisted?

From the info sessions, they were adamant that it was primarily so that you would get your admissions + financial aid decision at the same time. I would just submit now, and you would just get the decision shortly afterwards, which makes sense for those who were interviewed after the deadline.

i think hopkins knows its probably everyones first choice and most likley if someone gets in, they will attend. but doesnt hurt to just send
Hi everyone! I've been lucky enough to get an interview here and I wanted to know if anyone was willing to share their experience. Thank you in advance!

very application specific and focused. interviewer flow felt like it was guided by my responses. yes, prepare the general why medicine and why hopkins, but apart from that also look over ur application and practice how to describe your experiences in a detailed manner

Thank you so much!! :)
Good luck guys, March is getting closer!
Does anyone know the process for how Hopkins is evaluating post-II decisions now? On the podcast a few years ago they said that your interviewer is the one who advocates for you to the committee after an initial preliminary score. Just wondering because my interviewer was someone at the top of admissions leadership and wondering if it could help or mean anything
^^ also, does anyone know if the med student interview is weighed as much as faculty? felt like i had a great faculty one but didn't connect w my student interviewer as much.

Same mine said something along the lines of "the next guy (faculty) is more important than me so good luck there!" so hopefully that's true lol
