It's just an acknowledgment that they have read your application. If you look on sdn last years thread people received that email some never got an interview invite but some did.

In the email they said applications from 10/16 to 01/5 will take longer. Does that mean people that sent applications before then they have already decided who will get an interview or will they re-evaluate once the break is over?

I'm assuming they have reject, hold, and invite piles with applicants frequently going from hold to invite. for example, on 12/8 someone reported an II after submitting on 8/21. Their app was definitely reviewed by early October and they were probably placed in the hold pile until they received an II last week.

Yes. I think they have sent out at least 50 A's. There are maybe 30 people in the accepted group chat, and I know at least 3 irl that aren't in the group chat but have been accepted. I submitted primary on first day, secondary in July, Interview invite was in August, Interviewed in September, and got A in October.

Has anyone heard of them accepting below their stated '494'?

I believe it's a strict minimum. MSAR says "An MCAT of 494 is a minimum requirement for screening and granting an interview, exceptions are not made for scores below 494."

They said the same to me. If it doesn’t have to d words “unfortunately”, “unable”, or “regret@, you’re good!

During the First Friday, they said the class has been full since Jan and they are interviewing for the waitlist

That's wild. They told us they still had interviews being sent out for their class (non waitlist) in February

If the class is already full I doubt they will be interviewing into april. I think this month will be their last month

I attended the most recent first friday, and they said that for the last couple of years, about 80% of the class came from the waitlist so I doubt that they won't be going into April. On MSAR, it also says out of the 125-150 people they place on the waitlist, 120 of them granted acceptances. So it kinda tracks that they fill much of the class from the waitlist. But still, its pretty late so I'm not holding much hope for an interview.

Is it worth sending an update letter this late?

I’m starting to think the interview season for Howard might be over. It seems like they said they interview through April and May in the open house mainly to stop people from asking. If the class is already full and there’s an established waitlist, continuing to interview wouldn’t make much sense. Looking at last cycle’s data on Admit and SDN, it doesn’t appear that any interviews were sent out in April.
