circle back means going to people who were completed on a certain date. They go in order of submission, so they're not "missing" any high-stat applicants they want to interview when they see their completed file. They just entered early August with their apps, far from running out of real estate with 14k completed apps

They have to go back to earlier dates. Most applications are in July, August and September. So, my point is, after they finish inviting all the high stats students, they have to go back and take earlier applicants if they plan to keep interviewing.

They’ve been inviting low and mid stat students. I am speaking purely from what their trends have been in the past but I interviewed the first week and there were still 50 people at presentation day. They send 1k interviews out for 14k applications, it took them until now to get through July.

Each school is different. With that said, according to Lizzy, a handful prioritize high-stat applicants regardless of submission date. Others actually look more for fit (e.g. specific research or service hours)
