It seems like no new interviews have been reported for over a month. Are they mostly done interviewing for the cycle, or will they offer more in jan?

on sdn, fsu admin mentioned they will resume sending interview invites second week of jan, and that they are done for the fall invites

I know they say they look over applications in order of strength and not order of submission, but as a lower MCAT stat applicant who submitted secondary in October, I'm so anxious. I want fsu so bad!!

How accurate is this? Someone applied with a 495 MCAT and got an interview recently... my MCAT a little above 500 and I still haven't heard back. It seems so random

Does anyone know a success story of anyone with an mcat of 498-501 getting in? I know there have been applicants that have interviewed but sometimes they just WL you and put you as a candidate for their bridge program which is the master's program with direct entrance to their med school.

I just dont know if they interview you with the intention of WL and putting in that program since they liked you as an applicant but not your mcat score or if they just interviewed normally with the intention of accepting but it wasn't enough and you got WL and THEN get put on the bridge candidate list.

Does anyone have any insight on this? Sorry if it is a bit confusing I was not sure how to word it lol

It’s what the have written on the FSUCOM website as well as have mentioned it in the SDN thread directly from FSUCOM Admissions. I’m not sure about the details of how strength is determined

Is FSU slipping?? According to their SDN post lower stat (500 mcat and below applicants) aren’t necessarily interviewed specifically for the bridge program but seem to be getting a significant amount of the interview spots based on data from admit. It’s frustrating as an alum with stats in fsu’s range seeing people with scores 10-15 points lower getting interviewed over myself and other strong applicants. I know they preach the holistic review but believe me- I know my app is strong all around. And I know how this may come off but it’s confusing and concerning… thoughts?

Tbh yes they say that those lower stats are not necessarily interviewed for their bridge program but i truly believe that is simply not true. Admissions already know whats the lowest mcat they are willing to accept straight into their school of medicine. MCATS from (498-502) continue to be WL and then placed as potential bridge applicants.

So I personally do believe that they already kind of have an idea that this applicant with an MCAT below 502 is going to be interviewed yes but if they like you, you will be a candidate for the bridge program.

I just wish they were more upfront about that like other programs that send you an interview but specifically mention its for their post bac program.

During the information session and on your interview day they tell you when you will get the decision. It was less than 2 weeks for me and it was the afternoon of the date they told us.
