This is a rant but overall not impressed by my interview day. They were running behind time for every talk, only interviewed me for 20 minutes total w/ no follow-up questions allowed, and changed the interview schedule the day-of (changing the speaker lineup and doing a pre-recorded video too). They also had no true built-in breaks despite a long 5.5hr interview day. We literally only got one 4 minute and one 3 minute break... -sigh- The only redeeming quality was that they tell you the exact date to expect to hear back with your admissions decision. Do better FAU.
I also hated how she talked to us at the end like we were toddlers, telling us what to do and what not to do it kept going on and on. Idk why their interview day was so incredibly long, it took away from the appeal for me.

I agree I was so annoyed how she went over (in my opinion) the most useless stuff, she went over time for us too. This could have been so much shorter like any other school. I would also turn off the camera for 2 minutes to use the restroom and would immediately get bombarded with messages asking if my internet connection was ok and if I was still there

Do you remember what they said about updates? I interviewed a while back and I can’t quite remember if they implied that it was expected or not

They said that they are encouraged, especially as it relates to saying that you completed your "anticipated hours" from your primary app.

yeah that’s what I thought. They mentioned ridiculous reasons for rejecting/not advancing with past applicants. For anyone else with a future interview apparently they also have a thing where the deans from interview day will also say something about the applicants. It was in a YouTube video from a few years ago where Monica was saying how she keeps her eyes on the applicants to see how engaged we are during the interview day.

A applicant using the update space to express interest, not having capital names while in the interview room (idk if anyone was rejected but they said it’s something they look for), and maybe something else im forgetting

agreed. I got the impression that she just liked to hear herself talk. Almost as bad as the USF presenter who said she's not gonna 'coddle' us.
