Admissions office for this school had a question about a letter of rec and sent me an email about it. They asked me to either respond back via email or call, so I called. Tell me why they were so rude about it. They kept asking questions about its content and whether the designation as a PI was correct. Obviously, I have no idea what the man wrote, and here I am, shitting bricks thinking my long-term mentor decided to screw me over. Turns out, they didn’t finish reading the letter and didn’t get to the second page where he talks about my work in the lab (I TA'd for him before working in his lab, and I guess he wrote about it chronologically). After they figure that out, the individual goes "Ohhhh....yeah ok problem resolved." I'm trying my best to be nice and assured them it's no issue, and she cuts me off, saying "Yup, ok, goodbye have a good day" and ends the call. Like wtf bro you're at a highly respected institution and you just spent eight minutes big d***ing me around and giving me a stroke 😭😭.
