Sankey of warning! (with gratitude)
Hi all!
I wanted to post this as a decent stat applicant to remind people to spend time tailoring their applications to the schools they really want to go to (and maybe rage against the fact that 40+ applications is becoming normal).
Stats:
3.82 GPA
517 MCAT (CAVEAT: I took it 3 times which was definitely what did me in at a lot of schools)
4th quartile CASPER
Preview: 5
2 posters, 2 national conferences
2 publications, 1 first author
2800 hours research (honestly more but some was paid)
2500 community service hours (1 gap year with AmeriCorps + stuff at uni)
450 hours CNA
100 hours clinical shadowing
+ extracurriculars that I was passionate about
Medical school admissions feel unbelievably random, and I'm so grateful to admitted to a med school, but I wish I could go back and warn myself about the pitfalls! Good luck to everyone applying this cycle!
