how personal do you get on secondaries
i’m talking about secondaries that are inherently more personal like “discuss a time you felt like the other” or challenge or hobby essays, like something that gets at how you think and who you are.
it just feels a bit unserious to talk about personal things instead of clinical/research/service examples….like i guess it really depends on the school and the prompt but it feels a bit weird even if it seems fitting like this is a professional application.
schools like duke say they really want to know who you are but do they really?
(also i don’t mean like overly personal red flag stuff, just some thoughts on coming out as gay & the struggles associated. though i did connect it to some clinical experiences.)
