Washu vs. Mount Sinai vs. Dartmouth
Please help me decide. Any input would be greatly greatly appreciated
My thoughts:
washu: Sounds like it's a really great school. Incredible hospital system and great research. St. Louis also sounds like a nice pace of life. probably cheaper on the whole. Drawn here by prestige, price, and hospital
Mount Sinai: To start with, I long-term want to be on the East Coast, and a significant amount of my friends live in NYC. This would be a dream. However, I'm scared that it's not attached to a university and maybe is a worse school than Washu. Would this actually matter? I understand it's part of a huge hospital system, but perhaps it has fewer diverse academia options due to it not being with a classic institution (I am really passionate about semi-unique research).
Dartmouth: Honestly, probably not on my radar. I just don't really want to live in the middle of nowhere, and don't really want to travel for clerkships. But also, all the med students and faculty I talk to sound incredibly passionate about the institution (different than Mount Sinai). So, it's still an option, but unsure.
