I am completely grateful to have some acceptances & to even had the opportunity to interview at the places that I did, but I was really really hoping to head back home to California. Left to the east coast for undergrad & then got an opportunity to study abroad post grad. Applied from abroad & interviewed in the middle of the fucken night to the best of my capabilities. And I’m happy to see people get into CA schools but it really stings to hear just rejection after rejection from them. Especially as a URM whose mission aligned with these schools, it just sucks that I didn’t even get a chance to go back—it was chosen for me. Idk what they were looking for and I’m trying to remind myself that wracking my brain trying to figure out will do me no good either. I just needed to get that off my chest & hopefully other CA natives relate as well 😞
