I've heard from many folks at multiple programs that, despite funding cuts, the NIH is still reviewing applications for non-MSTP MD/PhD programs to receive an MSTP grant. While the official funding decision won't come out until next summer (if we get a new MSTP program at all), I was wondering if anybody had heard any rumors about programs that would be firmly in the running to receive the grant. The last notice from NIGMS (NOT-GM-25-024) mentions aspirations to spread MSTP funding to IDeA states.

Additionally, this could be a thread to highlight non-MSTP MD/PhD programs that appear to be well-run. For me, I was reallllllly impressed with the University of Kentucky, West Virginia University, and the University of Connecticut. They all seemed to be more robust than some MSTP programs.
