Private Profiles… Let’s Talk About It @HappyRabbit and The Remainder of the Sexy Admit Team.
Hey admit.org mods, quick thought. A lot of users (myself included) have privated their profiles, but doing so completely removes them from school-specific II/A/R/WL lists, which makes those pages a bit less informative.
Instead of an all-or-nothing privacy toggle, it might be more helpful to let users selectively hide specific fields, like secondary submission dates, II dates, or interview scheduling. That’s usually the identifying info people are worried about anyway (at least for me).
This is why my main account is private, it shows all my real dates. On my alt, which has randomized dates and scheduling info, I keep it public. If selective privacy were an option, I wouldn’t need to do that, and outcome data and stats could still stay visible and useful for everyone.
good chattin.
