"I am sending this letter to officially let you know that orientation for the entering class of LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans is August 3, 2026 . All students who have been accepted in our Medical School will matriculate into the first year class on that date."

You'd think this was an acceptance email right? WRONG!! I started to cry because I thought I got in. Then I cried harder when I realized it was actually a rejection.

It continues to say:

therefore, I am sorry to say that we will be unable to offer you a position in this year's class. It is highly unlikely that we will have any vacancies in the entering class over the next few weeks.

Couldn't they just have led with that?
