I got into my top-choice program, which is located where I currently live. At first, I was thrilled, because I have so many close people here and I am really grateful that I don't have to say goodbye / will have support while going through medical school. But I'm a bit worried people won't understand how much busier I get... I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings or have my relationships suffer... but I think I'm going to have way less time than I do now and have to be more selective about what I do with my friends / who I see. Anyone else worried about this? Any guidance about how to find balance between an old life and new pursuits in the same place?
