I'm a lab tech in an oncology lab at my university. I did neuro research as an undergrad and absolutely loved it, which is why I wanted to do more research in my gap year. Turns out, I hate my job so much it's almost making me hate research altogether. The experiments are fine, but very repetitive, and most of the day I literally have nothing to do. I'll do like one or two experiments and then need to sit off the rest of my day because I'm paid by the hour. And during that time, I literally just refresh SDN and admit lol. It is so painfully boring.
