Now, let me be clear. Some of you are sitting here in September with zero interviews. Not one. And you’re refreshing admit every twelve minutes watching somebody announce their 18th interview. I understand the concern.

But look, I lost a congressional race in 2000 by more than thirty points. That was not, as they say, an encouraging data point. And yet, eight years later, I was elected president. So understand this: the absence of an interview today is not a rejection tomorrow. Yes, you can refresh your email. But no, you cannot lose your mind.

I know you want proof that they are reading your application. But I empathize with the adcoms for a second. The republicans were breathing down my neck for a birth certificate and no matter what I provided, they want more proof.

Folks lets enjoy this privilege to even apply to medical school and chase our dreams.
