Just Some Thoughts on a Balmy Saturday Evening...
As we keep moving towards the end of the cycle, please keep your fellow applicants in mind. These are your future classmates and colleagues. If they ask for advice, give them advice. If they say they're lost and struggling, support them. If they say they got an A, celebrate their win. If they just want to doom and gloom for a post, let them. As future doctors, I think we all realize we will be seeing many different types of individuals in our practice. Now's a good time to practice supporting those we may not agree with. And if you don't want to do that, that's fine! But keep it to yourself. There's already so much negativity in the world. Either match the vibe of the post, give some constructive feedback or advice (and maybe only do this if they're looking for it), or maybe just keep it to yourself.
If you don't agree with someone on the site, usually it takes no (or little) extra effort to ignore it. Let people be upset. Let SUCCESSFUL people be upset. Let UNSUCCESSFUL people be upset. And let people be happy. Let SUCCESSFUL people be happy. Let UNSUCCESSFUL people be happy. Because really these terms are personal to each individual. We can ALL do better. Everyone of us on EVERY side.
I've really enjoyed the info, advice, fun posts, and sense of community on this site. Let's keep that community something we're proud to be a part of.
