The Silence
I am a traditional applicant who applied to 45 medical schools. I am an ORM applicant from So. Cal with a 514 MCAT and 3.97 GPA. My application was verified on June 12.
I have extensive underserved-community service, accumulated solid clinical hours, and completed one research experience with a poster presentation.
The silence from schools, along with the three rejections, has been devastating. So far, I have received rejections from Case Western, Mayo, and Boston University. Honestly, I don't think I applied to many reach schools or top-20 programs, other than my own school.
At this point, would it be appropriate to write or email medical schools to express my continued interest or ask about the status of my application? Is there anything else I can do?
