Super late applicant: Was Losing Hope then I got my First Interview at a T10

I just wanted to give a little bit of hope for those late appliers, people still waiting for interviews and other applicants like me.

My application is all over the place. For every good thing there is a terrible thing right next to it.

520+ MCAT but a 3.5 science GPA with Ds, Ws, and Cs

Interesting extracurriculars but a lack of traditional healthcare experience.

Tons of research hours with absolutely no publicaitons/notable productivity.

Three really good letters and three really mediocre ones.

Good writing (I hope) but scattered prerequisite completion

And too top it all off: I submited most of my secondaries in October.....Yes you read that correctly.

Why did that happen you may ask?

Well I had saved money for these secondaries, but then I had to spend it on a unforseen health issue, so then I had to work all summer to make that money again and be able to pay for these applications.

I regret so many things, from not prewriting more to not having more in my savings to just being more anything (organized, productive...)

I was starting to think I will just have to reapply next year which would mean thousands of dollars wasted.

But just as I was losing hope, one of my "throwaway just for fun" schools invited me to interview. A school where I am wayyyyy below the 10th percentile science or even regular GPA.

They still might reject me and I may not get any more interviews but at least I have a bit more hope now.

I am hoping the same for all of you. I know this process is meant to be hard, but I wish it was a but more fair.
