Selection bias or just a hypercompetitive cycle?

I’ve been tracking the cycle results for my state school and I’ve noticed a puzzling trend. While their official matriculant average has consistently stayed around 511–512 for many years now, the vast majority of interviewees reporting on this site seem to have a 515+, with many even hitting the 520+ range.

I'm trying to make sense of this gap. Do we think this is a result of selection bias where high scorers are more likely to post or is this cycle or is this just a significantly more competitive year than previous ones? I’d love to hear if others have noticed this score inflation versus what the MSAR actually shows.
