Hi all. I've recently interviewed at a few MD schools and I'm considering sending a letter of intent to one. I believe I would be happiest at this school, but it's not the "best" or highest ranked school out of the ones I've interviewed at. I'm still waiting to hear decisions, but I'm really wrestling with the choice to send the letter of intent if going to this school might potentially make it harder for me to get into a good residency in a competitive specialty down the road. It's my local state school, and they really like to take students from my area, so I think the LOI might really help my application, especially at this point in the cycle when schools want to fill their class with people that actually want to go there. Any thoughts?
