Class of 2030 private schools will have lower % 'Disadvangated' SES bc of private loan burden

I am calling it now... as admits are getting their aid packages and deciding where to go, the knock on effect (or perhaps the whole point depending on how cynical you are) is that less socioeconomically "disadvantaged" people will take spots at expensive private schools. Like some people who have posted, the choice between hella private loans and lower cost state schools will be a big one.

Having private loans seems STRESSFUL and the $257k lifetime cap for unsubsidized federal loans is already too small for most COA even for the cheapest tuition state schools, especially if one has already taken loans out for undergrad or grad programs. People with wealth just won't have to consider this and have the financial freedom to go to their best choice school without the added burden of private loans looming over them.

Anyway, I'm just thinking about the demographic shift we're about to see in medical schools as this financial aid shit becomes real for a lot of us.
