im in a really sad situation

i commited to Tufts yesterday and was really excited about it. all my life ive lived with my family (including during college) and i really do love them. i turned down UCI which would have been much cheaper and literally just an hour from my parents. My dad is really upset and sad about it and says that we'll unfortunately never be as close again and my life will take me in another direction. hes not being manipulative or selfish hes just really sad, and i feel now that i made a really bad decision and gave up this huge opportunity of being so close to home when my parents are in there 50s and aging. i feel so sad now and am not sure what to do. my parents love me and i really love them. we're an indian family and our culture really values staying close to parents, we dont think like once youre 20 you go off and live your own life. im really sad and feel like i made a huge mistake which i cant take back. of course im so grateful to even have acceptances and i suppose theres a possbility of coming close to home for residency. but i feel really sad. any words of wisdom in this moment would help :,(
