For interview requests later in the cyle, ex. Jan/Feb, how fast is the request to scheduled date turn around?

Should I continue to practice interviewing in case I get interviews later in the cycle? I feel like the interview notice to the scheduled date will be shorter than in the fall, leaving less time to prep. Or am I wrong?
