With the new federal loan cap, I’m trying to better understand how others are approaching private loans. Based on my estimates, I’ll likely need to borrow about $45,000 in private loans on top of the $50,000 federal limit to cover tuition and living expenses.

For those in a similar position:

1) How much are you expecting to rely on private loans?

2) Do you feel this level of borrowing is financially reasonable given a career in medicine?
