Why does everyone keep moving the goalposts and saying we're still early in the cycle?
In Aug it was early, then Sep it was early, then Oct it was early, and now y’all are saying “it’s Nov it’s early?” It’s getting ridiculous. There is a reason schools passed over you if you submitted early, whether it be writing, stats, or ECs, and it’s important to figure that out.
I’d argue it’s late in the cycle, with Nov half over and really only Dec and Jan to get more interviews but mostly lower volume; not many schools interview past February from what I’ve seen. If you haven’t gotten any by now or if the ones you did get went poorly, I wouldn’t be optimistic. The false hope those give on here and Reddit honestly feels kinda malicious, especially since it’s pretty much all coming from people already accepted. Like of course you’re saying not to worry, you don’t have to.
I think the worst part of it all is the false hope those around me gave and all the wasted time and money for this to be for nothing.
