The current laptop i have is 5 years old and barely runs zoom while sharing my screen with my camera on, so I’m looking for a replacement before med school starts in the fall!

I’m looking for something that can run research software as well as minecraft (top priority) to play with my friends from undergrad. My budget is about $1500-$2000

I feel like a macbook is the most natural option but i have never had one before and I’m a little worried about whether it will be compatible with certain research software and stuff
