Should I live alone or with roommates?
I want to stay under the $50k/year federal loan limit so I know getting roommates would be the smart financial decision, BUT here's my current situation.
- Was accepted to my state school so tuition is ~40k/year.
- I've been living at home and working for past 2 years, so I have decent savings
- I was accepted to a specific track within the school where all my rotations will be in my hometown, so M3-M4 I can live at home
The biggest downside is the city where I'll be living the first two years has a relatively high COL, a studio apartment will run me minimum 1.5k/month. Is it a bad idea to burn through all my savings just to live alone? I'm not a super anti-social or introverted person, I've just lived with roommates/my family for the past 23 years and I really want some space to myself.
