To everyone with no IIs so far

I hope you guys are doing well and taking care of yourselves! This an incredibly draining process and I know how hard it is. Regardless of what happens, I just wanted to remind everyone to be extremely proud of the work you have put in thus far! I am a big believer in fate and believe that we will all end up right where we are meant to be. Although the holidays are approaching, I am sure there are still twists and turns to come in this application cycle. So, please be patient and continue to hope for the best!

I submitted over 40 apps since mid-July through Labor Day with only radio silence so far. All my advisors said I had a strong app and was prepared to apply. I also had several people familiar with the admissions process double-check my writing, so I don't think there are any red flags with my app. So, I definitely know what it is like to wait in silence as everyone around you gets interviews/acceptances while feeling like you don't know where you went wrong or what else you could have done.

It is completely normal to feel disappointed and upset, but don't dwell on it for too long! Stick to your hobbies, see your friends and family, and take advantage of your free time before we get into medical school one day! Hopefully, we can come back to this post and laugh when we all matriculate at the end of this cycle.

I wish you all the very best of luck and a happy early Thanksgiving! :)
