I HATE the "what's your top choice?" question
Bruh does anyone else HAAATE the “what’s your top choice?” question?? I keep telling folks that I will not tell them and only my family knows, and it feels very invasive when those same people insist on asking over and over. The acceptance rate is practically 2% at any school, so I really don’t have the luxury of picking! Any school I’ve applied to is great. Otherwise I wouldn’t have submitted the application.
Plus what happens if I tell them and don’t even get interviewed at that school?? In fact, I’ve already gotten a pre-II rejection from one of my “top choices”. It would be super embarrassing to admit to aspire to something and not even get close, then having to tell every one you failed. I’m happy to share my wins, but I’d like to experience those sadder emotions privately.
Anyways just a quick rant because I’m so sick of this question. I’ve just been very clear about this boundary and feel like it does not get respected.
