Schools like Wake, UF, USC: an insane positivity maxxing ra(n)t

Don't look at my profile, ik ik I am crazy for applying to that many schools...we are all fighting our own demons, and I have crashed out so many times lol.

I just want to show my love to schools like Wake (their fun fact prompt), UF, and USC 🐀❤️ Thank you for asking questions that are personal, quirky, and semi-fun amid this whole process. I really appreciated the opportunity to express myself creatively and show a different side of myself. I believe that in the age of AI, this will be something beyond interviews that may become a litmus test of your overall character and personality. While the admissions process is imperfect and sometimes makes me feel inauthentic because there is a level of a "game to be played," these types of questions have been so refreshing. I know that maybe someone in the admissions room will giggle at my "things I don't care about" and relate, while someone else might get riled up about it enough to put me in their "no" pile, but whatever. I know I genuinely got to say something interesting that shows who I am in a different way. That is so cutesy and human...awwww.

Overall, submitting this many secondaries is torture, sure, but I am learning a lot about myself, reflecting on so many things and reassessing my views. That is so crucial for a young person (and lowkey any person) to do. Please, please, please stay grateful that you are even tackling this huge process: whether you submitted a primary to one school and got in ED, are reapplying, or are sending apps to like 90 schools or whatever, whether you have one II, ten, or none. There is a privilege in the ability to even pursue such an ambitious goal. I am doing this in part for people who cannot achieve their dreams due to circumstances beyond their control. For example, I frequently tell people that I get to leave the hospital if I so choose, even once I have seen all of the bad, but so many patients and families do not (both physically and emotionally)...thus, it is so meaningful to continue showing up, in part, for those who cannot dream their dreams. I know that if I traded my life with some bedbound stranger, they would do so much with it; this is so unfair and poignant, but that idea drives me to help others. Yes, all of this is a lot of money, and effort, and time, and oh it suckkks, but ultimately there is that little part of my rat being that believes I can climb so high and make it in the end :,)

Anyway, big shoutout to these schools because holy tangent. Please remember (esp. if you are still turning in secondaries) that not everything has to be rigidly tied to being a physician. You do not have to sell yourself and say some bs like "I played tennis since I was five because it's gonna help me be a great cardiothoracic peds surgeon" LMAO JUST DO THAT SHIT FOR FUN AND STRESS RELIEF AS YOU ARE MEANT TO!!! ENJOY IT!!! (or idk be authentic and express that if it was actually your reasoning at five, you very insightful and gifted child). I am passionate about so many different stupid niche things, and WE NEED THAT AS HUMANNNN BEINGS RAHHH!!! DON'T LET THIS PROCESS MAKE YOU NUMB. PLEASE. YOU ARE WORTH SO SO SO MUCH ❤️

P.S. ignore any typos. I am so done with proofreading after so many secondaries...rat is in pjs and going night night now. I love you all. Thank you, admit.org! I would insert a Subway Surfers pic for the diminishing attention spans since this is so long, or better yet a tldr, but I am too lazy, sorry.
