I’ve gotten some love at top schools but ngl I “just” want to be a doctor, treat it like a regular career, have a family and retire. I don’t really care about working at a major academic center or being in some prestigious professorship role.

Everyone just seems so gung ho on pedigree, but what’s the end goal? I’m sure you’ll have a better shot at a top academic residency program, but what comes next?
