If my gap year is all research but I have not yet published anything that I started working on when I submitted my applications a few months ago, is it worth sending an update letter to update how far I have gotten and what new projects I have started, especially those that I am leading? I also began shadowing two new doctors. Are these updates worthy of a letter if I have not really heard much in quite some time? I am not sure if november/december is too late at that point to send a letter, and I don't even know if by then I will have any papers accepted.
