Preface by saying I’m a 30+ aged person. This weekend while visiting my in-laws, our car got broken into and my purse was stolen. Thankfully I had my phone and wallet on me, but I’m now realizing that things I bought even 10 years ago are almost impossible to replace. I had that purse my entire young adult life. It feels like a whole decade of my life was erased. The rest of my keys were in it too so sentimental keychains, happy memories, stuff that only has value to me is fucking gone. To top it off, my senior cat peed on our bed while we were gone and also literally just woke me up by peeing on me again. It feels like I’ve angered god or something. I’m on 2 WL and waiting to hear back from a third school post-interview. I know it feels awful to have no control over anything when you’re 22, trust me I know, but it’s a special kind of awful to have been beaten down for an additional 10+ years and STILL have nothing to show for it.
