Name and Shame: PITT (comments from students there)
Comments from talking to a pitt student:
"We have a 8-10 week dedicated from end of Nov to late January. 40% of the class did not end up taking step 1 by the Jan 26 deadline.
Admin is horrible. Constantly making mistakes and riding us for attendance. I was late to lecture once and scanned in. Got a phone call in the afternoon that if this became a pattern I would be given a professional infraction by the committee on student promotions.
The dean of foundations is nuts. She will ride you for literally every small thing that happens, and they update policies to hurt us while saying it’s in our best interest
Pretty sure the dean of student affairs was thrown off the committee on student promotions because she would grossly overstate incompetence to the committee on student promotions during student hearings"
"We don’t have actual Biochem, immuno, or microbio blocks which really hurt us
Our first sem is “foundations” which involve cases around the topics, but no specific classes for it. So, when it comes to step studying, we are all clueless
Also, the class tests a lot of minutiae. Because we are stuck in low-yield lectures a lot, our time can’t be used efficiently
Low-yield for step, but high yield for in-house"
They are likely stat-whoring this year to make up for the fact that >40% of their class had to delay step!!!
