I hope this finds you well. I just wanted to share my cycle as someone without insane stats finding some success.

CA Applicant - UC Alum - 1 gap year

512 (128/123/131/130) -> 513 (130/125/129/129)

3.91 cgpa, 3.89 sgpa

1125 Clinical hours (mostly as a scribe with 500 additional hours anticipated as an MA)

200 non clinical service hours

1000 research hours (split between bench, clinical and educational research)

4 LORS (undergrad did not offer committee letter)

100 hours of club leadership

My narrative was predicated on my upbringing in Filipino culture, specifically our family-oriented values and our privilege to take care of our elders. Most of my work was centered around working with older-adults and humanizing medicine.

I received 1/2 tuition scholarship to Belmont, but will ultimately be staying home in CA at CUSM.
