Few days till April 30. On fence between these schools. Cost of attendance approximately equal between each for me. Future goal is surgery -ortho , plastic or neurological surgery. Had opportunity to visit NYU but not Mayo unfortunately.

My family is mod-Atlantic so Mayo is further and that is a consideration but not deal breaker. Big cities aren't my favorite environment but I can deal for 3-4 years.

I sense ( perhaps incorrectly) that NYU is more recognized as a top medical school than Mayo and I feel their match list outshines Mayo. Are these my own biases or do others feel the same.

Anyone who may have been to Mayo second look chime in? Especially helpful if you may have also been to NYU.
