Put in my two weeks notice today. I enjoy the doctors I work with and the work I do, even though it can be slow at times. The other day my buddy called me with the opportunity to join him on a week long backpacking trip in mid-may. I was originally planning on staying on with work until mid-june for money (which is silly, cause whats a few more weeks going to do to my loans) and routine. But i realized, there are so many sacrifices i made in undergrad for the sake of being a doctor and i just don't want to add to that list. All of the work i put in was worth it, to be clear. But now its time for me to take the chances to do all the things ive always wanted to. Even on the days that i wont be on some crazy adventure, to live in the moment and spend more valuable time with my family. Making the call was tough but i am so excited for what lies ahead. I hope all of u out there take the time before matriculation to do something spectacular that you never thought you would have the time to do.
