Possible New Sankey Idea

Hey guys, just something random I was thinking about. I understand the purpose of the Sankey and how it shows where someone interviewed, got accepted, or was rejected. However, I feel like it doesn't fully capture how unpredictable the application cycle can be, especially when it comes to timing.

For example, someone might submit a secondary to one school really late in the cycle but get accepted there before a school they applied to much earlier. I think it would be interesting to see when people submitted their secondaries, received interview invitations, got waitlisted, and ultimately received acceptances. Some schools might interview or waitlist applicants for months before eventually accepting them, while others might offer acceptances much earlier.

I think having a timeline-based version of the Sankey could really change our perspective on how the application cycle works and help us better understand just how unpredictable it can be. It could also help us learn more about the differences in timing between schools and applicants.

I made a sample using Claude with a modified Sankey format, and this is what it turned out like. I think something like this could be a really interesting update if the devs ever considered implementing it!
