If you don't have an II by now, it is indeed the time to start thinking about next cycle.

Key word is thinking.

What are your shortcomings? Why do you think they happened? And how are you planning to fix them, whether that’s getting a clinical job, finding research, submitting secondaries earlier, or anything else?

For me, I wish I had started earlier. If I had begun last winter, I wouldn’t still be stressed about finishing my last secondaries. Starting late pushed everything back, and now I’m playing catch-up with everyone else. While people have As, I am just waiting anxiously.

Good luck to everyone. There are still plenty of IIs coming out. If you start thinking ahead and preparing now, you’ll feel a lot better when they land. Remember that even 1 II doesn't guarantee an A. As someone on reddit always puts it, be preparing to reapply until you have an A.
