Life before med school- what to do?
Hi all! Just recently accepted to a great IS school and I've gone from what do I need to do to prep in case of reapps to what now? For context I have some money saved from years of working throughout college as well as during my gap year as well as a small 529 cushion that I was able to leave untouched during undergrad. I love to travel & see my friends- most of whom have moved away after college for MD programs/jobs/etc. Now I'm feeling stuck/guilty for wanting to spend anymore money after the costs of the application cycle... Can anyone weigh in on this? I know everyone says to just enjoy the last of it before heading off but I'm also going to be paying for my school by myself + from a low SES background where money was tight. Even if I saved all the money I make over the next couple months, would it even really matter in the grand scheme? Will a couple thousand dollars truly make a difference when I'm eventually going to be taking out loans for hundreds of thousands of dollars? Anyways, sorry for the longwinded post just hoping for some perspectives.
TLDR: Should I go enjoy the last of my time before med school and spend some of my savings or find a job to save more?
