Obviously it depends a lot for each school, but let’s say that via MSAR stats a school offers 100 waitlist positions and 30 get accepted off waitlist.

Does that mean that there’s about a 30% chance to get off a waitlist?

Does this stat include everybody who got waitlisted? I’d assume for a lot of schools (by the time they get to accepting waitlists) that some students would have already committed to other schools right? Would that mean that by the end of the cycle, that list of 100 could drop to 60 and about half of those waitlists get in?
