Giving Back This Cycle: Interview Prep & Application Help

(CURRENTLY TAKING A BREAK FROM REQUESTS.)

Some of you may remember my account from earlier in the cycle, bornintellectual46. This is an alternate account (bornintellectualALT) with the same profile, just without dates and identifying details, mostly for privacy, though in reality it probably doesn’t matter much.

I genuinely don’t think I would have had the success I’ve had this cycle without my friends and an advisor who volunteered a lot of their time to help me. This is my way of giving back, especially to those still waiting on the big A. Coming from a low-income background myself, I know how difficult it can be to afford formal advisors or coaching, so we’re hoping to use our experiences to help others who may be in similar situations.

With the recent addition of DMs on Admit, two friends and I decided to use this as an opportunity to support applicants who don’t yet have acceptances but have upcoming interviews, or who could use help with interview prep, mock interviews, update letters, or similar things. Before every interview we had, we sat down and did honest mock interviews with each other. That approach has helped the three of us collectively secure 30+ acceptances and 50+ interviews.

We’ve already been helping some close friends, but we want to extend that support to others who may still be waiting and have a lot riding on an upcoming interview.

Quick disclaimer: at the end of the day, we’re just three people still learning as we go and are by no means experts. That said, we do think we can genuinely help if you’re unsure how to approach an interview, haven’t had the success you were hoping for post-interview, or are trying to get off a hold or waitlist with an update letter (all three of us have navigated this).

If that sounds like you, feel free to DM this account. Please be specific about what you’re looking for help with. We’ll prioritize applicants without acceptances first, then move down from there. THIS IS COMPLETELY FREE!

Happy holidays everyone <3
