What's keeping you motivated (or less anxious) lately?
The waiting period during this cycle has been hard, but I’ve been staying on top of my extracurriculars to keep me busy, as well as getting outside a lot more often. It has still been hard though. Been wondering if all my hard work just isn’t going to pay off. Yay anxiety, yay depression. 😔
Then I had a great time scribing late at night at the free clinic an hour away from my house, and man, it was sorely needed. It reminded me why I can’t see myself as anything but a physician. Even the difficult-to-treat patients (because they have a complex CC and we don’t have the resources to truly help) made me smile and feel invigorated. Now I am super motivated to stay the course and keep working hard.
So to build some community (and turn down the neuroticism a notch 😅), I’d love to hear what is keeping everyone motivated to stay the course and keep wanting to be a doctor! Or even just what are you doing to stay sane and/or less anxious this cycle, lol.
