It. Is. AUGUST.

"I still don't have any IIs" -it is August.

"I only have 1 II and I'm scared I won't get more" -it is August.

"XYZ school sent out some IIs and I didn't get one" -it is August.

"Should I be worried" -it is August.

"I only have IIs from DO and not MD" -it is August.

"People who submitted after me are getting IIs" -it is August.

I am begging you all, at least try to rein in the neuroticism and anxiety. This is going to be a LONG cycle. Silence in August means basically nothing.

If you have even 1 II at this point, cool! You're statistically in the earliest group, which means nothing is secretly wrong with your application and at least one school fully reviewed your application and decided they want to meet you.

If you don't have any IIs at this point, that's totally fine and totally normal! That's actually the most common place to be right now, even just among the applicants who will eventually get accepted. It does not mean that schools have even completed their review of your application, or that they are silently ghosting you in particular.

It's okay to be anxious about the cycle; clearly, the stakes are high and we're all gearing up to see our efforts come to fruition. But please, for your own sakes, do as much as you can to be your normal selves and minimize the trawling of the forums for the slightest bit of information about what schools are up to and how other applicants are faring. Nothing that happens to other applicants means that YOU are failing or should be concerned right now.
