not staying in california :(

hi all, super grateful to have an acceptance to an OOS med school but as a CA ORM, it is super disheartening to get no love from any cali schools :( it stings a bit because so many of my activities were dedicated towards serving the local communities here and i guess i was a little delulu to hope that they would catch the eye of any of the schools here. i wanna still keep some hope, but i saw a post saying the UCs are almost done sending out invites, and i already got rejected from USC and put on hold by UCSD (which is basically an R too lmao), so i guess im wondering if anyone has any advice for mentally preparing for the transition and move to a diff state, east coast specifically, for someone who has never lived outside california.

also reemphasizing that i am sooooo grateful for my med school acceptance, its an objectively amazing school and i feel so lucky to have gotten in there, but i am also grappling with the nervousness and anxiety of leaving home, especially aging family, more expensive tuition, and not knowing what the future holds. thank you all :,)
